Fernandez was in attendance at the fifth World Economic Forum on Latin America CARTAGENA. Dominican president Leonel Fernandez held meetings last week with important Colombian people and entrepreneurs and international investors that participated in the fifth World Economic Forum on Latin America. Fernandez received a visit from presidential candidate Juan Manuel Santos, who was Minister of Defense during the current Alvaro Uribe administration, with whom he spoke about the aid that de Dominican Republic for Haiti after last January 12’s devastating earthquake. He also held meetings with Paul Bell, president of Dell Global Public and with Luis Miguel Cantu, president of CEMEX for the Caribbean region. The Dominican head of state left the country from San Isidro air base and upon arrival in Colombia was greeted by Julio Riano, head of Protocol for the Colombian government and an honor guard from the Marines. He returned to the country last Thursday. |
