Dominican Cuisine
Enjoy anything on the menu in the DR’s fine restaurants and hotels. The country’s cuisine stems from native Antillean and hearty Creole recipes featuring rice, seafood, meat and vegetables, with light spices.
Traditional fare includes the tasty mangú, a delicious plantain-based dish, as well as La Bandera Dominicana, a popular lunch option. It consists of rice, beans, vegetables and fried plantains. The island also has many great restaurants offering international fare. Visitors should never drink tap water.
