Dominican Republic President meets with owners of Marriot hotels
Dominican Republic President Leonel Fernandez received a group of investors from the United States in the National Palace Wednesday, prior to the groundbreaking for the construction of the hotel JW Marriot on the upper floors of Blue Mall.
U.S. ambassador Raul Yzaguirre headed the delegation that included the president of the Velutini Group and of JW Marriot, Luis Emilio Velutini, Marriot CEO Rob Steigerwald, Marriot CIO Brenda Durham, and hotel chain executive Ivelisse Jose Jorge.
Dominican Republic Tourism minister Francisco Javier Garcia and Dominican Republic Export and Investment Center director (CEI-RD) Eddy Martinez also took part in the meeting, among other senior officials.
