France Danilo Medina today congratulated on his victory Sunday in the presidential elections in the Dominican Republic.
"The conduct of the elections attests to the commitment of the Dominican population to democracy," said French Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
France "has taken note of the recommendations made by the electoral mission of the Organization of American States, which will improve the electoral process in the future," the note of French diplomacy.
The mission said yesterday that the elections were clean, but found the purchase of bonds by different parties, not considered that this may impact on the outcome of the vote.
"In this new period opens in the Dominican Republic, France is committed to strengthening the bonds of friendship and trust developed by the two countries under President Leonel Fernandez," concluded the French diplomacy.
