House of Juan Pablo Duarte
It was built around the 1760s, originally had a living room, 4 bedrooms and other facilities.
It is not certain that Juan Pablo Duarte was born in this house but it is certain that the Father of the Dominican Republic lived in this house during the most important times of his live.
In the 19th century it was restored according to the esthetical criteria of that century. Now it houses a museum dedicated to the life of Juan Pablo Duarte. Busts of the members of “la Trinitaria,” a secret pro independence organization, are exhibited in the patio.
