Cabarete
Cabarete is located east of Sosua, North Coast of the Dominican Republic.
Cabarete, located approximately 40 km east of Puerto Plata and 20 km east of the Puerto Plata Airport, is a charismatic little beach town that attracts sports enthusiasts and sun worshippers from all over the world.
It is a tourist town which became especially kite surfing and windsurfing, located between a bay and a lagoon, is popular among the young and young at heart. The atmosphere is casual and colorful mix of national folklore, international tourism, the sport of windsurfing and adventure tourism.
Its attractions include the scenery of its mountains, two lakes (Cabarete and Punta Goleta), and its caverns and nearby village of descendants of freed slaves brought from the United States in the last century.
