Puerto Plata
North of the Caribbean island La Española in the Dominican Republic, we are in the city of Puerto Plata.
As with the other Greater Antilles, the weather is wonderful. Neither too hot nor too cold all year. The breeze and the tropical vegetation provide a relaxing atmosphere.
Puerto Plata is one of the best destinations in the Dominican Republic has beaches with white sand and golden, historic area, Isabel de Torres mountain with its cable car, the cascades of Damajagua and more recently the Ocean World, a modern dolphin.
Between Puerto Plata and the airport have built a tourist section called Playa Dorada. This area is exclusively for tourism. It has several beaches, hotels, restaurants, banks and clubs.
Among the main beaches of Puerto Plata are Guarapito, clear water, Cofresi, a beach with a panoramic view of Puerto Plata, Sosua, a spectacular beach with crystal clear water which is also for diving. Cabarete also highlights where windsurfing and kite boarding, and also has an exciting nightlife with cafes and nightclubs.
Cofresí is a small tourist enclave just west of Puerto Plata, with a nice bay, a family tourist attraction (Ocean World), and a pretty all-inclusive resort, Sun Village.
Isabel de Torres Mountain provides a unique view that you can climb through its cable car. At the top is a Christ Redeemer welcomes and also a park that is home to various species of flora and birds in the country.
